Victoria Beckham lands at Heathrow ahead of her big British Fashion Awards night

Victoria Beckham is nominated for two awards. First up is the ‘Designer Brand’ for a “leading British based designer that has excelled and made an impact on the international stage over the past year – which sees her go up against Burberry, Stella McCartney and Tom Ford. Her second nomination is for the ‘Red Carpet Award’ which gives “recognition to a British designer who is creating global awareness of their designs in the media.” She is up against Stella McCartney again in this category, as well as Antonio Berardi.

Established in 1989, the British Fashion Awards was born from the British Fashion Council’s then five-year-old Designer of the Year Award. For more than 20 years, the British Fashion Awards has been celebrating the contributions of British designers, creatives and models to the international fashion scene. The event date is November 28th, tonight!

Graúna is the name of a black bird from Amazon in Brazil, which is endangered because of illegal hunting. Also, it had inspired the form and the color of the look.
The colors gold and silver mean the richness of Amazon, the red, which is under her shoes, means the blood of the dead animals.

She inspires me

Anya Ayoung Chee is a Caribbean girl from Trinidad, she graduate from Parsons School of Design and Central St Martins School of Art and Design, Anya spent several years working as a designer in New York City until in 2007 she returned home after her eighteen-year old brother Pilar died tragically in a car accident. Soon after the move, Anya was selected to represent her country at the Miss Universe pageant. This experience propelled her into a life in front on the camera as a model and television host. Anya has since hosted several Caribbean television and web-based events and live shows, including movie premieres, fashion shows and her own fashion program “Make It Yours”. 

  I didn’t miss any episode and I can tell that Anya, who learned how to sew four months ago, changed my vision about “tropical, African fashion” I would definitely wear her designs, even that I am a “city girl”. 

 Anya, the winner of Project Runway inspires me to to continue to follow my dreams. 

Anya Ayoung Chee, uma garota de Trinidade, que se formou pela Parsons School of Design e pela Central St Martins School of Art and Design. Anya passou alguns anos de sua vida em Nova York trabalhando como designer mas teve que retornar para Trinidade pois seu irmão chamado Pilar de 18 anos faleceu em um acidente trágico de carro. Assim que ela retornou, Anya foi eleita a representante de seu país para o Miss Universo, com isso Anya começou a se familiarizar com as cameras como modelo e também como apresentadora de televisão. Desde então ela tem sido apresentadora do seu programa chamado “Make It Yours” (Faça Isso Seu) e também tem dado entrevistas, participado de eventos de moda e até filmes.

 Acompanhei todos os episódios do programa e posso dizer que Anya, que aprendeu a costurar apenas quatro meses atrás mudou minha visão a respeito da moda “tropical, Africana”, uma mistura que ela mesmo criou. Mesmo sendo uma “city girl” eu posso afirmar com toda certeza que eu usaria os looks criados por ela.

 Anya, a vencedora do programa de competição de moda Project Runway é o que hoje me inspirar para continuar a lutar pelos meus sonhos.

My creation with a U$ 1 Goodwill fabric.

The first idea was to create a skirt, that became a blouse, that became a summer poncho that can be use as a skirt, blouse or poncho!

Minha criação com o tecido que paguei U$ 1 da loja Goodwill.

A princípio, esta peça seria uma saia, mas virou blusa, que virou poncho, ou seja, pode ser usada como: saia, blusa ou poncho!
